    Yo all,

i'm just started with a project named "THE KUBE".
The designs are made in inventor.... the metalwork of the case will be made with a Laser and bend machine in our factory. It will be completely made in Aluminium.

    Please feel free to comment

Have a look on the inside....

Please have a look at this front side view.... ( the parts in it are just to have a look if the holes where the correct size... a floppy i did not have in spare

    http://rallysport.ws/kube/kube15.jpg

A view of the kube as it will look like.... not everything is been screwed and tightend off coarse, but for you peeps to have a glance of the finished look

    A topside view....

2 pics to show what i meant with the double encasing and the special space for the UV lights :)

    http://rallysport.ws/kube/kube20.jpg

Note : This is NOT the finished thing yet.... not nearly even, the inside needs to be painted in blue Uv reactive paint... everything needs to be thouroughly cleaned, etc etc .... please feel free to comment or give your opinion....
i have just put it together to give all of you a glance of how it will look.... but with all the visual goodies that still need to be added the finished thing will look 500% nicer....
i'm now at the stage of a 15% finished thingy....

Would it be too much to ask for the images to be resized and maybe embedded :p ?

Like it a lot - did you cut the design into the top of the case yourself?

    just for the info :p

I'm going to put UV Lights into the "double side" in the front... this will give some sort of a backlight effect wich should be beautifful... also on the top side i will place a blue or Uv neon to light the inside up aswell as a lighted fan wich will be located at the center of the top side (you can see that the holes for the screws are already been made) all wires... (well most of them) will be invisible since i will let them go through the double side off coarse since that was the purpose of the double side....

the innerside of the kube will be painted in Uv reactive blue, outside stays in the alu.... (but it needs to be cleaned off coarse... lots of fingermarks at the moment :D )

The drives (DVD writer, and the fanguards, plus floppy drive) also need to be modded.... but i don't have a clue yet what i will do with them :dremel:

The Power and reset button need to be drilled out ( i did not foreseen these holes since i did not had the buttons at that moment.... as a matter of fact i still don't have them... but i would like to fit a master switch alike from an airplane or something... you know the kind of switch with a red lit on it... i think it would give the whole thing some more punch  i would place it on the right side next to the drives...

hope you like it peeps :D

getting my daily recomended allowance of Alu.

Have you thought about anodizing the thing and then having it dyed uv reactive blue? then you just need to boil it to seal the finish... would be a heck of a lot more durable than spray... and then there are the bragging rights...

Re: getting my daily recomended allowance of Alu.

having it anodized is an option indeed :) only thing is that i need to find someone who is able to do it in my region :) but i think i will... i have a lot of mates in the industry who can help :D :hip: :naughty:

but what the heck do you mean with "the bragging rights" ????? is that some brittish language twist ? :duh:

what are your plans with the cdroms?

im wondering what a good way to incorporate them more into the case

similarly i want to have a plexi front, and want to incorporate the drives a little more...

Thanks, I have a project posted here as well, check it out if you get a chance. I think anodizing that cube would be very nice as well.
