So you know Alonso eh? I was about to say, this looks veeeeeery reminiscent of his work. Its cool though, not accusing you of copying or anything, great quality work so far.
He's a good friend of mine, then, I do love what he do. But this project is not me, that's why I'm looking for my own inspiration... Maybe I see y'all in a few moments ECK
I like it a lot. One question, on the first series of pics it looks like the window on the side panel was beveled. That is, has a sloped inside edge. How was this done? I suggest painting the steel later on, don't know if thats in the plans. Why steel anyway, why not aluminum, its so much lighter.
Looks great so far, I had to do the same thing with the cage reinforcement using those aluminium strips! I love the dull glean look that clean steel gives off, it makes for a very attractive case. If you do move it alot or even frequently I suggest using some kind of matt vanish if you don't plan on painting it as finger prints and greasy hands really detract from the aesthetic looks of a nice clean case.
For the side mesh. If the internals are pressurized enough he will not have to worry about dust coming in that way. also depends on the size of the mesh (smallness of the holes). I have some fan filters on my current server and they work great as long as you keep them clean. just vacume them out onec in awhile. the same way would work with the side. another option would be some sort of thicker clear plastic, something like what brand new quilts come in. this stretched fairly ticht would look nice and not look like plexi glass, probly even sit tighter to it. I liked the looks of the front without the large hole. but I am sure you are going to fill them somehow. TF
Bad news Ok ok, some bad news there... 2 weeks ago I've done some cleaning-tidying into my bedroom. So I've moved out my Steel Mod out of the bedroom. And when I took it back, I saw that the case has been bended Steel is hard to cut and drill, if I'll do it again, and then I'll use Aluminium. But right now, I've started a new project, thread will be created in a few days Thx for following this thread. ECK
