Use Google Scetchup. It's the best CAD software I've ever used. Have a look here for the Bit Tech discussion and some models to download.

Thanks for the comments guys :)

Updates Cheesecake. Unless they suck, like this one.

So me and Ettienne went to the Laser Place today, to test cut the mobo panel and radgrill.

And here's what was made :)

    The Motherboard Panel

I have to make the text wider, there's barely a hole in there :(

    The snazzy radgrill

On my AC Ryan Radgrill, now here's the problem, as the thing became wider the plexi moved more out of place from the original, so at the last few strikethroughs you can see that the plexi isn't exactly underneath the rad grill. But that's no problem, I'm just going to cut a black radgrill, and use that in the place of the AC Ryan one.

    Then my motherboard

Then the plexi ontop of the board.

Now there's a LOT of measurement problems. I felt so crap after I test fitted it, it sucked guys :( you have got no idea.

The PCI slot is too low
The top corner thing is too high
The PCI and GFX cards have a little PCB piece at the left side of the board and that pushed into the plexi
The northbridge block holes were too small
The ATX and 8 Pin wasn't positioned properly
The SATA Port hole has to move left

I'm going to have to lower the plexi even more, so the following changes has to be added:

Bigger holes for the ramslots must be made so that both slots are open
The CPU block hole has to change from a rounded square to an oval
I have to make holes for the high capacitors and mosfet coolers in the top right corner of the board.

So yeah, that completely sucked guys, but yeah, I have to make this panel, somehow :D

    Cheers guys, enjoy your evenings.

haha yeah :( I'm going to the place on Tuesday, hopefully I got it right this time, otherwise I'm gonna cry, and think of something else, maybe a a full size cover, that could work a bit easier.

thanks man, sadly, the bends aren't that good as the lasercutter was stuffed up and we could only cut at 75DPI, hopefully next time we can do it at 1200DPI ;)

lol, I would love a stock P180 again, they just look so good *drool*

There isn't really a reason for the cover, besides the cool looking factor :p

Lasercutting, I really have no clue. Maybe go to the local university and ask the Science department or Engineering departments where you can find one or if they have one you could use. I know our Uni has one aswell.

Dont worry about the time you take to finish the mod - I have seen some mods on this site (big ones) that took longer than a year to complete. Cant wait to see the new cuts and if everything is gonna fit. Good luck!

Wow guys, long time no update, but there was some work done :D

I also decided on a new mobo cover, that will be explained a bit later

    So here's my radgrilles

Test fitting them to see what effect they will make

I sanded the edges of the grill on the left, and the one on the right is just as it would be straight from the lasercutter. Left looks so much better. I used my while LED fans to test it out, and saw it's making too much light.

Decided to use some LED's instead

    Here's my green grill

oh noes, here's two :( No problem though

    Here's the black grille

Then I lasered the top panel for the case, sadly blue plexi, but I can fix that :D

For some obscure reason the laser did some cutting on the outside of the hole :\ Won't be a problem though

Then all the goodies fitted to one another, rad at the bottom

And then in darkness (Looks MUCH better in real life :) )

Then I applied some Carbon Fibre Vinyl to the top piece

That's it for now, need to find some longer allen cap screws, and fit the fans with the raddie. Then I need to get 6 Super Bright While LED's which I will mount under the grilles, will show you guys how that works a bit later, camera's batteries are dead. Need to go buy some new ones.

Next step, starting my new mobo cover.
