Thanks for the comment Dean, and here's a peek :p

    Picture time!!! :D

    The case so far

Time to reveal my plan for the mobo cover :D Quite obviously it will be longer to cover the whole thing. And painted. Matt black, or maybe some other colour.

Going to have to cut and wiggle it a bit to make it go under the radiator

I quickly hopped on the bike and got some screws aswell today

As you can see they are nice allen cap screws, maybe I should polish them *rubs chin*

And the cover out of the case

Basically the case so far, excuse the dust *i wonder how that got there, lol*

    Back to my grilles :D

That's it for now, must get a bigger sheet of aluminium and make the panel, properly :p Then cut some holes in it, add some GREEEN :D yarr, I'm so hyped

Nice WiK1d! :thumb: The carbon sheets on the case looks much better than I ever thought it would :)

That mobo cover should look great when completely done and painted :thumb: Cant wait to see the progress!

Not really... I opened up my P180 today to do a bit of fiddling, and I ended up cleaning out more dust than that just from the fans...

Thanks for all the comments guys, I will clean her up soon :)

    Can you say ALUMINIUM?!

To show you size of the sheet, I left my bike in the background :p

Some basic tools needed for this next task

    Drawing some straight lines

Now, the surprise, a scissor? :\

Yup, I cut the alu with a pair of good ol' scissors

After a while I decided, screw this, and whipped out the dremel

    Rough cut made

Then, my all secretive bending jig

I just clamp it on to the edge of this table, easy as 1 2 3

Then the cover test fitted, some adjustments still needed

    Lots of space left inside

Thats it for now, happy modding [IMG]

    Thanks man :)

Me either, but there's a bunch of work to be done before that can happen :p

    Thanks! :D

So being home today I decided I'm going to start working on a new cover. Cause the old one looked bad

    And here she is :D

The diffirences really is only the depth, as you can see here

    Compared to what it was

    Looks like there's enough space

Top cover on after I had to do some extra cutting

I still need to clean up the edges, as they look like the sea. But I think I might use some C-Strip as in the pics just to make me feel a bit less exploitable :p

    Thanks guys

as amazing as that looks, i have a quick question.
have you checked the clearence with all of you products in(i.e. cpu w/heatsink&Fan, ram, and video cards?)
some pcb's on video cards stick out past the pci slot cover, and if thats an intel board i know(well, in my case) even the stock heatsink would hit against that cover. (and where is all the air going to go?)
but, over all, it looks awesome, and i cant wait to see this mod finished. its great so far, and i know it will only get better

Okay guys, this has jumped to life again, but with a few twists:

1.) I need a new name, Carbon Fibre isn't part of the theme anymore
2.) I did a bit of work on the one side panel today, hope you guys like it thus far
3.) I need vinyl printers in PTA, anyone know any one?
4.) I'm thinking of going white inside, thoughts?

    Here goes the pics:

I dropped in at fablab today, made this:

I know that some of the lines are skew, the heat of the laser got to it, but it will be fixed ;)

The panel how it was a few months ago (some more planning was made on it)

The things I cut on the panel

Explanation: This panel is a mission to cut properly, so I thought, who cares, all I do is made a nice border thing to hide it. So that's what I did, that needs to be colour changed, to what I do not know. So while drawing in su I thought, hey, lets make the panel interesting, so I made the bottom piece thing, which will act as something that looks cool, but also as ventilation for the hard drives and powersupply in the bottom of the case. What I'm planning for the black thing, is mesh behind the lines, and some colourful lighted up perspex behind the sign (don't ask me what it means). Any ideas for a colour to use? I don't even know what colour I want to have all my accents in the case :( Help?

    Cut out (ignore the tape)

This is looking really nice. I really like the carbon with the lime green plexi. And black P18x inside look so much better, well done on the paint. And is that a Derbi GPR racing you have ?

    Keep the good work up!

You seriously need to invest in a set of files. We're talking like 15 bucks here and it'll improve the quality of your work tremendously. Also those bends are horrendous. I'd pick up a cheap bender while you're at it. They can be had for $20 from harbor freight. I use their $60 bender simply because it's bigger. And I bought their needle file set for $3 or maybe it was $7 and then I got a few flat files for less than that.

I think your ideas are good but those simple tools would make everything a bit cleaner.

:duh: i should have read instead of just going through the pretty pictures! my bad. White wouldn't look bad inside, especially if you keep the original color as it would give it a contrast. Though may I ask why you're changing the theme ?? I really liked the carbon idea.

Hi Fozzy, the motherboard panel is not any more anyways, but yeah, I know it did look really bad. Thanks for the tips though, will get some files and sanding paper for the lasercutted plexi bits, that laser only cuts at 75DPI so the bends aren't that nice

And drdro, I was into the whole carbon fiber look 6 months ago, around August, I don't like it anymore

So yeah, the mod is basically changing completely for the 3rd time. I'm thinking of going with a black and white theme now, that could work nicely no?

the black and white would look nice though i was thinking, how about a 'Tokyo' themed case? Reason is, black being the color of the night, you already have an Asian symbol in that one plexi grill and for light accents, you could use some red and yellow. (and what ever other colors you find in bity metropoles). Though that's jsut a quick thought and i'm sure it'll turn out really good anyways.

Okay guys, I need to pick a design for my other side panel, I'm going with a white base, will have some japanese characters on the window panel to not leave it empty, but I'm gonna have something big on the other panel:

Sorry for all the pics :(
