Yeah, aren't posters to Project Logs obliged to have a cat in a least one pic per project?

Could have sworn I'd seen that in the rules... :D

Seriously, cool little box, and hope the thumb is healed clean.

    ok , ok ...
I'll go and find myself a cat somewhere .... :p
    if I can't find a cat, is a bird ok too ?
Cuz I've got a lot of birds in my computer cases :p
anyway , today I won't mod much cuz I'm invited in a computer company in the neighbourhood.
    Anywayz, I'll keep you posted.

    Starting all over

I don't like the looks of the case as it is right now...
So, I'm going to the shop tomorrow and make a new front/back/side panel.
    With much better looks :p
So tomorrow you can expect an update :D

And I'll upload some pictures of my case feet I got from my grandpa ( 100 mm ronds that are 5 mm thick, pure aluminum ^^ , And for other projects he had some pure copper blocks laying around, but that's not for now... ^^ )

Ok, I had to leave the idea of a home built box .... *sigh*
I found on old Hifi CD-player that will be my new box.
The idea of home built is gone, maybe later I'll start over, but the most shops are closed and I had to complete this mod.
I made some progres and some pictures but, I'm having some problems with the hosting.
just a little bit patience please.

BTW, this time I'll be using a dual PCI riser, so I can add a tv capture card.
It's another PCI riser card that I had laying around.

    *ENORMOUS UPODATE*

    ok , a huge update.
got much work done, but didn't had a filehost, so I had to wait with the pictures.
    but here they are.

I found an old CD Hifi player and fitted the pc in there.
I managed to cut the I/O panel, fit the motherboard, dual PCI riser and the wireless LAN card and the HDD drive and PSU are fitted in also.
I've got some secrets behind that I'm going to use in this case.
But I first going to try and test them before publishing them.
    On to the pictures.

I'll let them speak for them selves :D

Modding RAM, Processors etc. components into key adit is usual in Metku.net :D
And also I guess you have got the idea of modding leds in skull finger crews from Metku.net.

But, nice job! Keep it up! :thumb:

i was wondering why you wouldn't just use a old dvd player or something like that in the first place. of course, building it from scratch is the best way to go b/c you're guaranteed to have something one off, but it's just much easier using an old box. i hope your project goes really well. good luck!

@ scifi3018 : indeed, I broke a stick of RAM as a keychain. I think it was a 128 Mb SD-RAM stick. They make damn good keychains :D

@ drinn : nop, I got this screw from CaseArts, I didn't mod it, it already had those LED's in it. BUT I still have all the other screws, so I might modd some of my own indeed :D And I love Metku, great site and modding gallery. Helped me alot with my first uluminated mousepad :D

@ kaotic504 : Thanks, I wanted to do a home made case, but I didn't like how it was, or atleast not for a HTPC, maybe for a small server or TMB 2 ( Thin MUSIC Box ) and I had an rather recent DVD case, but it was only 35 - 40 mm high, so I couldn't fit the pc in there.

Maybe I'll give you an update this evening, I'm first going to shop a bit for electronic parts.

By the way, I'll be using 2 or more 60mm DELTA fans ( those extreme loud / high air flow fans ) because they're the only fans that I have more then one of. ( I got 6 of those fans, but If I place all six in there the case will start to hoover I think :p )

Good news for thos who like the custom case ( like me :D )
I've found my old 666 Mhz VIA back ( flex-ATX ) So I might be able to fit it in there. but that's for later.
I ordered some stuff but I've got to wait 2 weeks before it gets here.
Mean while I'm going to assamble the case and install windows XP MCE 2005.

I cleaned out my room and found an 120mm PAPST fan ( toghether with a lot more fans from PAPST including 190 mm fans :D ) And I thought of removing the active cooled 1U cooler and replace it by a passive cooled 1U cooler with the 120 mm PAPST on top.

ok there goes the secret :p
Indeed, I ordered the IR receiver module to make my own IR receiver, but they had to order it so it will take some time before I get it...
