Looks great, tempted to do a wood case myself its just as you have discovered, the weather in the UK leads to warping wood.. But that adds character as you said ;)

Looking good :) I like the sound of the acrylic and LEDs in the HDD cage

Are you having an engraving in the side panel window/HDD acrylic by any chance?

    Love it so far

How are you fixing the acyrilic to the alluminum? I have built a case this year, No curves on mine mind you, due to the fact .. its difficult lol..
But I used 6mm Ally and 5mm Acyrilic The ally I polished by hand to a high shine (not mirrored) and the acyrilic is smoked (sort of a dusky grey blueish hue)
It does look the dogs danglies, but I found when I attempted to bond the two materials together I didnt have any luck I had several samples and used varios epoxy resins and glues but non held due to the difference I think in the way the materials react to the heat from the inside / out side of the case.
I ended up having to drill and screw the acyrilic to the ally in the end. Mind you, with the wood being the inners you might have a good insulator huh .. Really interested to see how you get on with project.

It is nice and shiny I am waiting on my cpu and chipset block then I will get them all running!

With the two layers alu I am going to stick the acrylic to the bottom piece with what I still need to find out... but the second piece will just be slotted in and resting on top of the acrylic held in place with the 4m bolts which will take most of the strain (there is 12 of them so they should hold up). I am doing this so I can get to the 700ish LEDs that are going to be in the case... All three pieces will be bolted together at the back of the case and in to the wood.

Nice new gear mate. I am thinking of upgrading my un-used Swiftech GTX to the GTZ.

Hey man this is looking great! My dad is a carpenter and he has a machine that does is like a big planer and allows you to make boards extremely square. Mabye you can pull it off and get it planed. Or go to any high school and ask if someone in the shop class can do it. Kids love using heavey machinery

    Hey all

My school is not the best when it comes to machinery, we have scroll, and band saws drill presses and that is it!

I did about 30 mins of work today. I only managed to cut out the back panel as I have not yet worked out where I want the Radiator to be. So here is the pictures. There is some weak places but they will be strengthened with the aluminium. The fan will fit in the hole and held in place with one of Bills grills and the aluminium.

    [IMG][IMG]

While I was away the place we were staying had some chairs which have aluminium on either side of ply board so this is just very rough idea of what the foot and other surrounding aluminium acrylic sandwich will look like

I would also like to thank www.MNPCTECH.com for sponsoring me with their all new Vandal Switch mounting plate (click images for store link)
