I got the idea for a hellraiser puzzlebox inspired pc about a year ago, and also wanted to have a pc "beautifull"enough to put in my livingroom. at that same time I bought an Living colours lamp from Philips.....the ideas melted and I started designing

firstly I wanted an pc with no visible buttons, cd trays cable netrys..and so on
I had to stand solitairy in a room as an design feature. The bays and drives had to slide out when needed and slide in the case when not needed.

For the measuremnets and determining the size I made a model , using Solid Works

The deigning of hardware and electronics lasted for about 3 months and now , I ve been building for 3 months and most of the cube is ready, exept for the moving cloaked drives and the touch sensory and its software

    the Build:

After the design was finalised in Solid Sorks, I could start with building the cube. Not all the electronics were designed, but those small prints could find a place inside anyhow.
The Cube's main structure is formed by square tubular aluminium with special connection blocks. I choose this construction becaus it creates an perpendicular construction with relative easy (but higher costs)

Inside the mainstructure 6 aluminium panels will be fitted. The panels are lasercut , thanks to Caroline Bakker and Jan van Maanen van Revicon b.v they are fixed by long screws, on these same screws the Lexan LED panels are fitted.
The nut from the screws of the aluminium panels provides some spacing for the LED wiring.

after these steps the PC components can be fitted into their designated spot on the bottom and rear-panel.
