    final photos

    video

    Hello bit-tech modding community!

After my last massive (not so cool, just so big) project 3, I decided to start a new scratch build PC, this time more compact, single system machine, made of aluminium as my favourite material to work with, some acrylic and for joining parts I chose metal adhesive instead of M3 screws I used in my previous project.

I noticed that most modders start their work log with pictures of the concept. Well, I will not. I think that it will be more interesting to see the final appearance at the very end of my work log.
    Hopefully, we will get there.

As this is my very first attempt to share my building experience and as my language is not so great either, I will reduce this work log to only photos along with some short comments. However, I'm looking forward to any comments from your side and will try to answer any questions as good as I can.

    Enjoy.

Following pics are from early stages of Project ULTRA

L aluminium profile for joining main parts. Both surfaces sanded down for better grim, washed, dried and glued together. Takes ages to harden, but join is decent... so far...

Hi, no, that's not acrylic, it's 1.5mm thick aluminium I use. It's just protective foil that makes it look green.

    another quick update...

parts of the left side of the case getting together

... and this is pretty much the final shape of the case it self, still need to sand down all the inperfections, glue, before painting it. There are still custom grills missing on the right section (bottom and top) and prespex for left side still to be cut. I will try to finish those asap so I can start with painting.

No welding, no screws... parts are bonded together using metal to metal adhesive called "Liquid Metal". As I mentioned before, join is rock solid, but takes days to dry out properly.

    Thanks.

Next update will include painting the case, which is another challenge for me as I have never really done it before.

Another small update. This time after first stage of painting. As you can see, it will be black outside and white inside. I'm planing to make all the components and cooling white/black aswell.
I'm waiting for more cans of colour as I underestimated the amount of it needed, so hopefully, it arrives sometimes early next week, so I can finish this part of a project and start building the system it self.

Looks very interesting so far. Nice, different design for the case, although it does look a bit like a fancy mailbox. :p
