    Project on HOLD.

-=====-Sorry all, have got allot to do latley and my project has to be haulted for a while.
When I get back to it, I'll let you all know.-=====-

    Hi all,
Along with this being my first post here,... it's my first mod too :D
This'll be a 'milk run' for my next workstation I plan on building(no point in trashing a new machine,.. I am a newbie remember).
The specs of the rig are:
C3 full tower 'smoked' acrylic case
    Asus A7M266-D Dual mobo
    2 AMD 2000+ MP
    1GB DDR
    1 IDE 200GB HD 7200rpm <-- (-- edit--NOT 200MB  Thanks Balder )
    1 IDE 120GB HD 7200rpm
    2 SCSI 36GB HD 10000rpm
Haven't decided what DVD/RW to get yet so I'll stick with my 12x CDRW :worried: :D

Anyway my case arrived a couple of days ago and to my horror, the bottom end of the mounting blocks(on the front panel) had become 'unstuck'. :waah:

A better view (slipped a card between so you can see what I meen)

Time to give our patient his 'shot'.

    Awww all in bandages.

Ok, ok already! I know it's not a mod, just a quick fixbut hey :D .

Just a quick fitting to see how well my Zalman ZM-WB2 waterblocks sit in place.

    Looks pretty cool huh?,...
... and then I noticed that the motherboard had NO mounting holes in it :wallbash: GREAT!!! Now what?,...

Yup, you guessed it :dremel: MUHAAAAHAHAHA!,.... gulp :worried:

SUCCESS!!! YEEHAAA!!!,... ahm,.. sorry about that.

So that's about it so far. Unfortunatly I don't have much spare time anymore so this project is going to be slow.
Anyhow, I have to be off. I'll try and update this as much as possible.

Thanks all for taking the time to drop in.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

    Pics,... FIXED! :D

does the mounting for that waterblock get in the way of the agp slot? it looks like a very tight fit if not

The board (Matrox Parhelia) clears the bracket by less than 1mm. I'm not going to leave it at that though. There's lots of excess I can dremel off the bracket.

probably a good idea, wouldn't want to wiggle a monitor cable and short out the back of your (rather expensive) video card.

looks like a fun project, haven't seen too many watercooled dualies around here :)

    Thanks mate.
I wasn't too happy with the idea to be quite honnest with you. Kind of like jumping in the deep end from day 1 :D

Yeah it's a C3 fulltower like G-gnome's Orac only mine's the BlackIce 'smoked' From clear computer case.
Come to think of it, G-gnome's Orac is the reason I'm doing this. I hadn't a clue that case modding was even done 'till a freind pointed me to his 'masterpiece' right here on bit-tech. :jawdrop:

Thanks for all the replies guys
I'm starting to really like this place
    Chris.

Yup I'm using it right now. :D
Actually I did get a scare out of it. the first time around it wouldn't boot. Pulled out everything and put it back,... nothing
Turns out, all it needed was a BIOS reset, go figure. :eyebrow:

You gonna hate me for this but,.... This is just a milkrun for my new workstation.
I'm planning on replacing everything except for the graphics card and the 2 SCSI drives. Gonna leave them for SYS drives.
The mobo will be replaced with a dual 64bit one
    CPU's 2 AMD Opteron 248's
    4GB DDR ram
and last but not least The 2 IDE's will go and be replaced with 4 250GB SATA drives for a grand totall of 1TB!! WOOHOO!! but that'll be around x-mass.
Overkill you say,... well yeah but it's not a gammer. I do 3D animation and a lot of video editting for a living so I need the power and the space :D

    Cheers,
    Chris.
