Hello everybody. I'm a student from Belgium.
I like to game alot. But because I'm a student I have to go to university.
The school is pretty far from home so I have to rent something overthere.
BIG PROBLEM it has to be cheap -> no tv or cable connection and very small.
solution build my 2 game stations in one case.

I started this project about a year ago. So I'll update alot in the beginning.
But the project is still not finiched.
I have alot of pictures from the modding.

this is how the case looks at this moment
    [IMG]

but I'll start at the beginning. (the first pictures are bad quality sorry about that)

In that time I had a small pc (µatx) and an x-box.
So I had the great idea to buy a big stacker case en just put the two togheter.

First I had to take the X-box apart
    [IMG]

then I had to make a base for it.
I used long motherboard standoffs and drilled some holes in my stacker.

It was a VERY tight fit.

then ofcourse I needed the powerbutton, reset, and the controllers in front.
because the cabels from the x-box motherboard to the connectors were to short I had to solder about 150 wires.

the dvd unit was a bit harder. There were no holes in the side. But we are modders for something.

and a total shot at front
    [IMG]

the inside (at that moment still my old µatx
    [IMG]

so the first big thing was realised the x-box was up and running in my pc case.
With a tv-card I can use my pc screen for the x-box gaming.
The first plan was to stop right here because I had done what I wanted.
But once started I couldend stop.

I bought this 4 inch screen.

****I'll keep the tention and will update in a few days
tired of translating (sorry for my bad English)
Next few days i'm at a festival. I'll be back sunday.
I you want more updates I'll see it then.****

so I'm back from the festival. It was great.
I'll post another update right now.

So I removed the fan on top and cutted the stand-offs for the fan mounting.
then I placed the madcow psone 4 inch screen on-top.
first test was already great. it showed my x-box background nice and clear.
since the stacker is standing next to me on the ground I have a clear look on the screen. I'll use it to show my system stats during gaming.
and offcourse to show-off at lanpary's.

then I started with the side panel. I wanted something realy simple.
So not a big logo cutout or whatever.

and an overview with the old hardware.

    that's it for today.

    Looking good.
Have you made anymods to the xbox?
IF you had upgraded the dvd you would of had one that fit.
What are you using as a psu?

yes my x-box is chiped but I can not play coppied games. (illegal)
    I use it for:
-xbmc (x-box media center) my x-box is a real media center.
-shorter loading times for my games (I can put them on my hard disk)
-bigger hard disk for my music collection.

you can probably upgrade the firmware to play copied discs

anyway, being able to play games off the HDD means you could play a copy anyway

I wonder if talking about chipping is allowed on this forum ....

why wouldn't it be allowed? :p And why is chipping an XboX illegal anywayz?

Being able to do illegal things isn't illegal... Actually doing those things is... Getting your xbox chipped for XBMC isn't illegal... Chipping your Xbox and using copied games IS, because copying games is illegal, doesn't mean you did something wrong when you chipped your xbox

anyways, nice modding, like the window you've made :) keep up the good work

i think your right though, but some forums don't like discussion about possibly illegal activities

like i bet we couldn't plan a bank heist, sure we may not do it, but its a means of doing something potentially illegal thing

just as a quick aside, just be wary of console chipping conversations. It is not condoned on this forum (i speak from experience, was asking about chipping my ps-one also for legitimate reasons).

And depending on where you are in this wide world, it can be illegal to chip your xbox.

That aside... i love the integration of the xbox in to the stacker... nice job man!
