    I am turning a Pacerd Bell With an Intell P I @ 75MHz and trying to put windows XP pro on it! The only problem is that it only has 8 mb of ram and an 850 MB HDD. Can someone give me some suggestions or help?

    i think you are posting in the wrong forum for this sort of thing. imo, winxp needs at least 64 if not 128 megs of ram to run well.

    You have no chance as XP requires at least a 233 MHz and 1.5 GB hard drive

    It wont happen dude. My system running Win XP Pro with many of its services stripped down still uses about 89-100 MB of ram. And that hard drive wont even hold the system folder alone.

    HDD?

    The 850 MB is only teperary, My firend wants it back, but my other friend is going to try to find one that is bigger.

    There is no way to run win XP on a P1 75mhz ....

    Try windows 98 .. if that will work .. but I doubt that too ...


    so
    the only way is
    get a better mobo , faster cpu and more ram , and bigger HDD

    ... so basically .. another computer

    god i should hope this is a joke..


    the windows cd (in its compressed form) will barely fit on that hdd.. win98 will even chug on a p75..


    Oh yeah thanks for the popups and the link that tried to install GATOR on my machine..


    I got a 486 that will blow that away running NT4 <chuckles>
