Quick mock up of the vent .

I'm going to send the drawings to the laser cutters this afternoon :) So I'll know soon if making a few of these is feasible .

Huge kudos for the patience with all those jigs, mock-ups and testing! I know just how huge a pain in the arse it can be to try to get accurate bends on acryl, and you've really nailed it!

    Keep up the good work.

Thanks :) TBH that's been the interesting bit the case is really basic the challenge has been figuring out how to make it in the simplest way . The strip heater and the jigs make the bending pretty much fool proof .

Thanks , I'm not sure I'm going to use the purple though . It's semi translucent which means you can see the shadow of the internal part of the case .

Combination of by hand and using a router with a straight edge , like this ......

I'd purchase one for sure from ebay for sure. What internal options are you proposing for holding drives etc

    Thanks guys :)

There is room under the mobo for a couple of 2.5" drives , you can see the mounting holes in the picture of the base . You can also fit a third drive to the inside of the vertical part of the base , you would have to use velcro or similar as the mounting screws would interfere with the cover .

    So room for 3TB :)

It will also take a 50mm low profile fan if needed .

Looking good man ! Got myself a nice little heater also, just started playing with it.
Soo cool, really addictive once you get the hang of it.
I had the bulging out issue also (sorry for the flashback) I actually had it when underheating the plexi also. The outer parts would cool off to quickly making the bend harder while the inside was still warm enough and bends easily. Teh dif between the 2 made the plexi bulge out I think.
Anyway subbed and looking forward to your further work !

They came from a perspex case that I got from ebay . I haven't managed to find any from another source , in fact I'm not 100% on what they are called :( I can find similar things but for making flight cases etc so much to big . If you every find any let me know :)

Thanks :) Strip heater is well worth the effort .

Or just pm me on here :)

I think getting the temp right helps a lot but what makes the biggest difference is using thinner acrylic .... you can hardly see it on the 2mm .

Update wise .... I have been making progress just not much to show . I've been tweeking the laser cut version sizing and sorting out the hardware like switches , cables and fans ......

Hoping to have the final prototype finished with everything installed pretty soon :)
