My drive won't open. I pressed "open" and it budged, but didn't open. Then I took off the cover and it only opens about an inch (with power and with me pulling it out). Also, when I opened it, the CD was lodged in it at a weird angle. Here's some pics. open closed. notice how it doesn't close all the way Cd at a weird angle. Why this CD? I wouldn't want to scratch anything important. Does anybody know what's causing the problem or how to fix it? Or is there a way to convert it into a flip-top DVD tray?
Nevermind, i fixed it Just had to move it back and forth a bunch and it snapped into place. Works fine now.
Once a cd drive jumps it's track it is more likely to do it again (to my experience). It may end up happening again sooner or later. Monkeybone
