Ok, so the other day my mate went to his Nans over the easter holidays and took his prized possition, his silver PS2 too so that he wouldn't get bored. So into the first the first week of playin the PS2 all fine untill.. his little cousin(age 4yrs old) storms in and knocks the silver PS2 off the shelve falling to its doom(4 feet :D).
After the fall the PS2 looked fine but on the inside the drive lens had completely shattered :wallbash:.

Now the fun bit, I plan to build a download/media archive pc into the silver PS2 case :D. It will house a Laptop dvd/cd drive, an Epia 10000 Mini-ITX mobo and a 120 or 200GB HD.

Lets have a look at what we've got here:

Not to be a nag... but you could have just stuffed in a new DVD player, making the PS2 work perfectly again. It's just a regular DVD player inside it you know.

But besides that, I love the idea of the Epia system installed in it. You could be using it as a file server, and stuff in 2x250Gb harddisks.

Well, if you got one with just another dead DVD rom drive in it, I would be pretty interested. Problem is I'm not in the UK :sigh: (still need a DVD player...)

Anyway, you could get your hands on just a standard micro ATX PSU. I think those are about 150 Watts, which should be plenty for a system like this.

I was considering doing up a ps2 a while back with a mini-itx, but didn't do it, but I never thought of putting a laptop in, good idea, and look fowards to the completed computer! Any visual mods gonna be made?

As for the plugin for the external powersupply, the price seems a bit excessive doesn't it?

    This looks very interesting.

Do you plan on leaving the PS2 as it is, or any modding work on the outside? :D

EDIT: sorry, read rest of thread. You've already answered

Please note that it has a 12V INput. You would need an adapter from 110>12V, assuming the UK uses 110 instead of 220.
