I really don't think that the PS3 will actually look like that once it is launched. It has about a year before it is launched and it can always be pushed back. I have heard a lot of criticism about the fact that there is no way in the world it could be 35times more powerful then then the PS2 but I don't see how you guys find it so hard to believe. I mean didn't the PS2 have like a 450 mhz or something like that processor which is the lowest of all three major consoles currently available. Plus it is only 35times more powerful on paper. We all know of processors, graphic cards, SATA HD that suppose to have this and that throughput/sec but you don't actually see it in real world performance. I mean you can have a one Proc that is 50% faster then the another one but you may only see a 3-10% increase in actual performance.

So I can see it being 35times more powerful in specs but in real performance and graphics it may only appear 2 times better. I am excited about the improved AI aspects and the possiblity of huge expansive more responsive enviroments.

Hmm, i dont think it looks to bad, but that controller :|
O well, i cant use normal ps2 controllers, find them far to small so maybe that one will be better.

Still will have to wait and see :)
They will get feedback on stuff then most likly change it

Just had a search around for info on the Revolution, and came across the GameboyMicro...
Pretty nice (granted, it's just a GBA in a smaller case, but I'm sure gonna buy one!).

As for the Revolution, the only info I could find was:

    1) It has 3 CPU's running @ 2.5Ghz each
    2) ATI R520 GPU
    3) Backwards compatible with Gamecube
    4) WiFi enabled
    5) No HD output (?)

There was also some info (from a Nintendo press conference) that you'd be able to download classic NES and SNES games and play them on the Revolution (I can see this being Japan only though).

Who'd want a GBA in a smaller case? It's small enough as it is. And if you mean the GBA SP, good luck ever finding the thing, it's tiny and so painful to use.

Interesting info on the Revolution. Wonder if any old roms would work with it... The lack of HD out seems bizarre at the very least...

Each to his own. I find the SP fit's my hands ok...
I'd just buy one for the 'cool' factor - I mean, this things frikin tiny: 2" x 4" x 0.7", with a 2" screen. It's more like the size of a mobile phone.
    More info here

The lack of HD doesn't really bother me. I'm in the UK, and by the time HD TV's are common (and cheap), we'll probably onto the next round of consoles anyway.

Hell yeah, i dont care what it looks like ill buy it, I got my PS2 first day it came out never touched a 1 1/2 ton black box, sorry i mean xbox.

But like the PS2, itll get delayed loads of times and loads will get shipped broken, but its so gonna be worth it.

I didnt get it supported 7 controllers? why not 8?

Probably supports 8 WiFi things, and one could be a remote of some sort for films etc, so 7 controllers and that

    just a guess

I have to say technolgy wise this is amazing.

What I reallyfound amazing was the Sony E3 2005 Press Conference video I saw on that gamespot page.

It showed satellite imagery of the earth being combined with I thin it was LODAR or something which is height map technolgy which basically like measures the contours of the earth's surface. It showed a real-time rendering which was done ONLY using Cell's processing power, no graphics renderisation needed, since I guess it was just imagery which was morphed into countours and shapes using the CPU processing power. Just simply amazing.

Can you imagine one day being able to walk around in your own home town on a PS3

I'm only around 1/2 the way through the video presentation and it's already an hour i didn't watch all of course maybe about half of it... Skipped some of the boring technical geek stuff.

I'm taking all of the videos I'm seeing with a pinch of salt. None of them are being rendered on what will be the final released product.

Remember when the PS2 was released? Apparently it was going to revolutionise gaming. Again.
