the problem with your main monitor turning off when you enable csyn id because your editing the settings of that monitor, not your lcd, read my timing section to see how to bring up the right monitor.
^^that will fix half your problems.

Managed to get mine working through composite after a bit of messing with my tv-out settings.

Have since put the lcd in a modified dvd case, until I get my new pc case to put it into. It's quite good for distracting my son with a movie on the lcd whilst I surf the net on my main monitor.

I'm not using powerstrip. Would it make any difference?

You can buy NTSC screens on ebay.co.uk for 25quid, Does it make any difference compared to PAL?

PAL is the european timing standard
NTSC is the north american timing standard
PAL displays wont work in north america and vice versa from my understandings.

    Okay, main problem is.......

I'm not changing the CSync setting on my primary monitor, I'm changing it on the correct monitor (The PSOne LCD), but it just doesn't like me doing it..........My primary monitor blinks out as I said before.

Now I need to think about my plans again as someone has kindly donated me a slightly smaller screen, so I may use one in my pc case with similar info on to the pic I posted and the other for an in car pc project.

Yeah, i know. I was wondering if it makes any difference. Since there is no PAL/NTSC distinction for PC's, but there is for the psone LCD.

Well im fed up of the crap quality in composite so i think im going to try and sort vga out again. The holy grail of finding a way to force detection of this as a second monitor on an ati card without hot swapping looks like its never going to be found so i guess il have to buy a pci video card to run it off of, what card did you say you used bee? The other thing is my card already supports dual monitors , will adding a pci card to this throw it all off whack or will i just have support for 3 monitors?

good info can be found here for those of you using this as a 2nd monitor if you are new to the multi mon stuff.

    multi monitor forum

some highpoints to answer your question wild...

    1. dual outputs on one card and adding a pci card will work fine. here is my system with a g4 4400ti and a g2 mx200 ( )

    2. the basic rule seems to be that you must use 2 cards with the same manufacturers chipset (ati/ati or nvidia/nvidia). a few have been able to deviate from this, but not many. the voodoo cards seems to be pretty tolerable with nvidia cards.

    3. in bios, you have to make the pci card primary. then in windows make monitor connected to agp primary.

    4. if using an onboard chip and an pci cad, you cant use the uppermost pci slot for the card. dont rememeber exactly why, has something to do with onboard video addressing and sharing the same addy as the pci slot or something

i am thinking of adding a psone lcd. you can never have too much real estate and i am getting tired of my 2X16 crystal fontz lcd. good luck with the multi mon

I think that matrox is pretty tolerant also, I have a 9700pro, and an old as hell pci matrox card. It could be that its old as hell, or it could be thats its matrox, idk, never really mattered that much.

How much did all those screens cost you?

the center 19" viewable sony was the only really pricey one and i got it though a deal due to overstock. the flatpanels are microtek 15" viewables so they were relatyively cheap (in comparison to nice flat panels). they work great for most stuff, but i wouldnt want to game on one. all told probably a grand (but i definitely didnt buy them all at once)

    update

im still surprised by the quality of the vga, so i too ka billion more pics but only one turned out, its hard because the surface is reflectable so a flash reflects, and no flash makes for a blurry image, so i could only take a pic at an angle so its sharp but dark because the flash isnt hitting it 100%
hope you guys think its alright
