When plugged in over VGA the LCD will flash as well as the top LED going on for a few seconds, but then go black again with the scan lines. I've tried booting with my normal monitor in then switching to the LCD, but again nothing comes up. Does the backlight power need to be tampered with ala your article when it's on a VGA port as well? Thanks for your help so far.

For PAL frequencies, yes, you need to modify the DCC wire. Quite simple to do really, applies to both s-video and vga in Europe and Australia/NZ.

Hmmm...I tried it with the DCC wire re-routed and it still just flashes when I swap over to the LCD. Looks like I'm just gonna have to find all the cables for the s-video option and try that.

    So close...

    Hi.
I've finally got the b***ger working.
Using a PAL screen on a Matrox G200 with POwerstrip.
The picture is rock solid but...
... I can't seem to shift the black borders from the top and bottom.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I strech my screen
to fill the black space? Currently it looks like everything is squashed. :(
    Here are my PowerStrip settings...
    Any tips?

    Anyone?

    Please?

    Thanks for your help,
    Dan.

Change the resolution, but then you will have to reconfigure the powerstrip settings, which is annoying!

Thanks - I'll give it a try. Any idea what I should change the resolution to?
Do any resolutions work without interlacing?

congrats man, i had the same thing as you to get rid of the borders go to custom resolution -> then scroll down to the bottom and select 768x576i (PAL) shuld be third from the bottom, when you've done that add new resolutioj and accept changes then it should be at full screen

hope it works for u :D

    PSone LCD in a pc

I modded my pc using a psone lcd in less than 3 hours. No soldering required. The hardest part was taking the lcd apart. I used an Nvidia card, and I'm using the S-video outpout. I wish I could post some pics for all to see. I don't yet know how to post pics.
Email me if you want to see the pictures.

    Hi All.
I've been busy designing a layout for my screen in Samurize and was wondering...
Has anyone set up the LCD at a resolution that doesn't require interlacing?
    And if so... what?

Hello all, i have been reading this thread in-depth (and in the process disturbed someone on AIM who posted in this thread 2 years ago offering help :worried: ) and this is the perfect kind of lcd i want for my project. I need to use it as a primary display. Everybody here seems to be using it as a secondary display. I read on page 24 someone was testing and they say the lcd was detected. Could i use it without a dummy/switch? What would i need to do to do this?

Will someone tell how you upload pics onto this forum. I could then show those who ask how I modded a psone into my pc-The easy way.
    Thanks

The easiest way is to host them at imageshack, and then copy and paste the "link for forums" into your post. Imageshack automatically adds the IMG tags for you, it's that easy :)

It cannot be a "native" display (640x480) is MANDATORY MINIMUM
for a POST screen... it's NOT that it wont be detected as a display
only the BIOS screen is illegible unless POWERSTRIP is hot on the display

Now then some cards that output Svideo can work in this fashon
(with the lcd as an s-video input) but I dont know which. The Sync
combiner definately provides a better display hooked into the vga port
still dependant on "arcade" resolutions so pstrip still needed.

Hello everyone. Firstly I want to say that this guide is nothing short of inspiring and, as i have found my inspiration i was wondering if something similar could be done with a laptop LCD. I have a PANASONIC EDTCB03Q3F lying around and I would like to mod it into my case. Any ideas?

    Thanx in advance,
    eddtox
