Firstly i am NOT after pirated games. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any cool software for the PSP that works on Version 2.5. Everything i've seen its for 1.5 or 2.0 which i can't downgrade to. Thanks Mike
As far as I know 2.5 hasn't been cracked. I could be wrong though, I haven't checked lately. I don't think 2.0 has been fully cracked either. Last I heard though they managed to get the ball rolling on cracking 2.0 thanks to the new GTA.
There is an exploit which allows you to downgrade from 2.0 to 1.5 thus allowing homebrew. AFAIK there is nothing yet for v2.5+ users!
So they confirmed it working? I had heard about it, but mostly came to dead ends and then found out about someone releasing a false downgrade file which turned your PSP into a useless brick. What's the use of downgrading though when the games coming out now won't play unless you upgrade? I remember reading that they were working on a program to trick the PSP into thinking it was running 2.0 firmware so that that games could still be played. Can't remember if it was ever completed.
fanjita has released an eboot loader for v2.0 so you can have v2.0 and still play emus and whatnot (but no iso loaders). V2.5 still hasn't been cracked yet.
And with devhook you can run 2.0 - 2.6 games on a 1.5 PSP. I'm just playing Loco Roco on my 1.5. What a charming little game.
Here's DevHook - there is no ISO loader in this version so get this one. It can properly emulate 2.5+ firmware so that you can play newer games on a 1.5 PSP. Got a 2.5 or 2.6 PSP and want a 1.5? http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=27932
