    He's so wrong.

How the hell is an iPad a viable gaming platform, especially compared to the PSP? It doesn't even have dedicated controls. Yeah, touchscreen game controls are novel, but after about 30 seconds they become annoying and cumbersome.

Give me a PSP any day. Codemasters' games are crap anyway.

I guess it's big enough to use as a table tennis racket. :D

Seriously mate, you really had to look it up? :eyebrow:

Hmm... those asterisks are obscuring that word, so I was trying to figure out what it could be. Apparently it's not what I thought, which is kind of a rear-end procreation method. Go figure...

    Oh, and PSP ftl. :)

..we don't really use that word here across the pond, thus it's not a commonplace assumption. My thoughts at least.:hehe:

    +1, especially to controls.

Humans have 10 fingers and a mind capable of controlling all of them independently. I expect an input method which reflects this, not some touch screen that uses nothing more than my right index. Games which simply emulate buttons by displaying them on the screen are no solution.

but noobs do believe they are gaming and since there are more noobs than real gamers in this world, companies will start making more and more games for touch screen platforms even if it brings us back 20years in term of gameplay

Ah, sorry, I didn't see you were a cousin from across the high seas.

True, it's not that common here, adding 'ing', not uncommon though, I guess it depends on what circles you move in and how bored you are with normal expletives. :D

Dude, bro, check out this new game I got for my iPhone. It's so legit bro! You press on the screen to pop balloons! And dude, this other game, you press on the screen to shoot zombies. Oh, oh! And another game, you press on the screen to whack a mole! But the best one bro, you press on the screen to make ripples in a pond! And the best part, they're only $5 each! Is that legit or what?!

I own a PSP (the 3000 model i believe) and I quite like it but I do feel it was something of a missed opportunity for Sony. I mean, look at the vast back catalogue of PSX games that they could have ported across to it, and yet they've only released a select few here and there. That was pretty disappointing for me. Hell, Final Fantasy 8 was only recently released for it...grrrr.

PSP could have been awesome, but sony messed it up. It should have had the whole back-catalogue of PSX games out, as well as decent new stuff. Hard drive would have been nice, instead of UMD, proper full-res video support without umds etc. I have the slim version and it's not too bad, especially once you put CFW on it. Too little, too late though.

eddtox - Those UMD's are noisy little things aren't they?? Screeching and whining as they go. I take mine to work sometimes when it's a quiet night (the wonders of shiftwork) but everyone can hear it whirring away which can be pretty annoying.
