    Hi.

Looking for a PSU. Can only be up to 140mm long and i want as silent as I can. Also modular.

I have found the CORSAIR HX450 450W MODULAR PSU. Are there any other really good 1's?

System that it will be running will be sumthing like.

    1x Qaud core cpu (Sumthing like a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650 3.00GHz 12MB 1333MHZ LGA775)
    1x ATX mobo
    1x PCI-E GPU
    1x DVD writer SATA
    2x 1tb SATA hdd's
    1x case fan
And most likely 1 or 2 PCI cards ie: TV card, sound card.

Edit: Also found that the Silverstone Element ST50EF-Plus ATX12V 500W PSU

Struggled to find any modular to fit your requirements. Also, according to Corsair's website, the CORSAIR HX450 you mentioned is 150mm long, so wouldn't be any use to you.

Corsair, Enermax and Seasonic have non-modular units which are 140mm long.

Not sure about noise ratings tho.

Remember, they all have the cables aswell sticking up from the end.

Where are you trying to tuck it?

had a look around and its almost impossible to find a modular psu under 140mm l, as a rule of the thumb they seem to get bigger with more wattage, 500w and below tend to be 140mm or less and since there is only 1 modular psu (the corsair you looked at) then I doubt there is one, although I saw a matx one rated at 400W

Yeh there is room for the cables its just the psu housing can only be 145mm long as there is a VFD display in the way. cables are ok as thay are below it just the top of the PSU would only have little room.

Ouch that's tight.... forget modular and go with a solid small PSU

EDIT: Did you make that case yourself? Can I see more pics?
