See current specs and what im planning to upgrade to at bottom

Hi all. Currently im using a Silverstone TJ04 case with two Akasa 120mm fans (45cfm 18db, one intake one exhaust). You might have seen a thread asking advice after my temps spiked 20+ after installing an 8800GTX, i isolated this to the PSU causing a localised heat pocket next to itself causing CPU and HD temps to jump up. Stupidly enough its only now occurring to me this is more than likely due to the fact that every cable on my Hiper 580W PSU is being used to power my system therefore stressing it too much, also i think its only a single 12v rail.

Currently my temps are fine with the top of the case removed, but that leads to increased noise. Im wondering if upgrading to a more powerful PSU would reduce its thermal output with the intent to re-attaching side case panel and keeping good temps? Just need to double check my logic there. Currently need to upgrade my PSU anyway as im upgrading my system (see below) but if a stronger PSU wont help temps then see Case idea below.

New PSU ideas (Budget around £70 exc VAT):
Coolermaster Real Power 620w Modular Lack of cables again? Also cables are short so may be an issue if a new case is needed.
    Hiper HPU-4M670 Type M 670W ATX2
OCZ GameXStream 600w Silent SLI Ready ATX2

Its either this or upgrade the case which i dont want to do if i dont need to. Currently thinking (Budget around £70 exc VAT):
    Antec P182
Would 2x120mm be enough to cool a quad 6600?

    Antec 900
Dust isnt an issue, easy enough to air dust once a month. But what is noise like?

The thermaltake Amour is not an option, i think the two bars at either side of the front are bloody ugly! I prefer a plain and simple exterior like the two above. Also if a new case is needed then need to ensure the PSU cables are long enough to be used effectively in those cases since the PSUs are at the bottom.

    Current specs /w Upgrade
MSI k8n Neo4 Platinum (still deciding on mobo, possibly ASUS P5W64 WS Pro)
    X2 4800+ skt939 (Either Duo 6750 or Quad 6600, quad worth it?)
    2Gb PC3200 DDR1 (2X1Gb Corsair TwinX DDR2 XMS2 Dominator PC8500, 2x2Gb is option if i can budget it)
    8800GTX

    200Gb Seagate SATA
2xOptical drives (Both on same cable with HD due to lack of cables on PSU)

Temps = CPU-35, Mobo-35, GPU-66 and HD-30 when idle. CPU jumps to 45 and GPU to 75 under load, rest stay the same.

I have the antec 900 and with the fans all set to max its not hard to hear it. from another room. but I have no need to max out the fans. I just put the 200mm fan to max (which you dont even hear) and the 120 on the back to the medium setting and on of the ones on the front to medium and its fine for me. My harddrives are always cold, whereas in my last case they would burn my if i touched them. Video gets lots of air with the 2 fans on the front and the ram gets some airflow as well. I'm happy with the case. Only real downside is that there are a fair amount of screws to remove to get the harddrive cage out.

    edit:
one other thing, I have the corsair 620 and the cables do reach where they need to. but the power for the cpu has to route up over my video card to reach. I may be able to go behind the MB but I haven't tried as I dont really think its a big deal.
Using the Asus p5k DLX, BTW.

Have a look at the Corsair range, HX520 and HX620, they seem to be flavour of the month although the 620 may be outside of your budget.

I don't think that your power supply is the issue here. The Hiper unit is very high quality, and that setup with an overclocked quad and 8800GTX will run on a quality 400W power supply. So it is some other problem that is causing it. I think that you might need a bit more airflow. Have you tried more power fans? If not, then it might be the supply, but I highly doubt it.
