I try to resolder my wire again and again and it doesnt want to start :wallbash: ...

    Any ideas ?

    thx!

    Which connector?
About the switch, check the switch, make sure it's shorting, if not, just use a cable or another switch of the same kind.

    What is a "short" :duh:

I have another switch but it has 4 wire to the switch and the other switch I got it's only 2 wire that I can connect.

not to flame or anything but your soldering on a PSU and dont know what a short is ? :wallbash:

well what it is "A low-resistance connection established by accident or intention between two points in an electric circuit. The current tends to flow through the area of low resistance, bypassing the rest of the circuit." like a solder bridge or even a nicked wire :duh:

    Short = bad. Means short-circuit, or 'I-used-a-little-too-much-solder' :D

A short isn't always bad, what do you think that the switches on PSUs do? ;)

Where was the switch you were talking about?
Is there any chance you can get some pics to show all that you're talking about?

It's look like a little bit scrap because I soldered a lot on it. It was not working so I had resoldered it many time...

If you have a multitester, check for continuity on the old switch.
If you don't have a multitester, get some cables, a resistor, and a LED, that's going to be enough for it.

Or just go and get a new switch of the same kind, they're cheap. ;)

Do you have pics of the other thing you did?

Ok I will buy a new switch then.I've got a kind of volt/amp meter so I will try it if the new switch won't work.
You want a pic of the whole thing? :

I'm sorry, but you're really not the type of person that should be working inside a PSU. They can kill you even when they're unplugged.

I think you've desoldered more cables that didn't need to be desoldered, as the one that I've put in a red circle, and that's the one that selects which voltage you'll be using 110V - 220V.

I didn't know the meaning of the word short because I speak french...

I had to desolder this cable because I can't extract the switch on/off from this original case...

I went to Radioshack and they don't have the switch I wanted, so do you know where I could have one ??

    thx !!

I try to find out the problem with my voltmeter and with the switch off, I mesured on the leg of the switch and it give me 120v, when i turn the switch on, it give me 0v ... ?? The switch is the problem ?? I tested with the original switch because I didn't find a new one...
