I got a PSU that doesnt give out a full 12v to the fan inside, and i heard someone say that they had the same problem and just connected the fan into their un-used P4 cable.... I see how thats possible and such... but would it be hard to do, and could it hurt anything???

    sounds dodgy to me....

but if it works then WHAHEY! post some pics or wiring diagram if it wasn't a simple hook up...

i would rather snip it off, but if i can use it for something then that would be better...

IT would make sense, that lead is just to power the extra power hungry p4 is it not. It just supplied that extra bit of +12 V tha that baby needs.
