I recently did a core system upgrade (badly needed) to the following things.
Graphics Card is ATI 1900 XTX (single card)

    Biostar Tforce 865
    A-Data 2GB DDR2 800
    Core 2 duo 6600

    From the old things
    ATI M200 MSI mobo
    Amd 64 3000+
    Cosair DDR 400 1GB

The power supply I'm using is a generic dynex 500W http://www.dynexproducts.com/pc-172-7-dynex-500-watt-atx-cpu-power-supply.aspx

Well now, when I put in the 1900xtx in the new biostar mobo, I get nothing but a blank screen, so I put in a 7600 nvidia board I had and it works fine with no issues. I did also put the 1900 XTX in another system with the same result but it has a lesser psu. (400W) I'm wondering if the new core 2 system load is higher and just not providing the juice for the 1900 xtx. I would much rather spring $100 for a new psu then $500 for a new graphics card =) I think I'm going to reassemble the old comp parts with the 1900 card to make sure the card is not dead. The old system worked fine with the psu and 1900xtx.

My 1950 pro needs 30amps on the 12v rails. Your power supply only has 32amps on the 12volt rails, and you have the xtx version of the 1900 so I am betting its the power supply that cant keep up.
the corsair 620 has 3 12v rails at 18amps each. That should be enough power. im sure if i am wrong someone on here will correct me.

Thanks for the reply, that is a very nice psu. Well I need to upgrade my psu anyways that will be next up. Really hope my card did not die, but then again it would force me to get a dx10 card =)

I broke an old card once that was still under warrenty, went from an ati 9000pro to an ati AIW9800 pro....
I was pulling it out of my motherboard when a cap caught on something and broke off:blush:

As there already is a topic about this, I'll post my question here.
Will my PSU, Antec 430W HE, enough for a GF 8800GTS 320mb ?

The specifications say that this has 12V1, 12V2 and 12V3 rails that all have 16A, for total power of 384W.
    I found that the GF8800GTS needs "30A / 300W on 12V rail(s)"
So as my PSU has three 16A 12v rails, is it 48A, or three individual 16A?

It's 48A, but it's best to know which line goes where if you see what I mean - you don't want everything running from one line with the GTS, that's too much.
