psu/video card question!

Ok if I wanted to get an ati 3850 video card would my Antec earthwatts 380w be able to handle it?
the psu has i believe has a max load of 27amps on the 12v rail.
specs are in signature

Well Sapphires website states a 450w or 75w on the 6 pin PCI-E power connector capable PSU. 75w converts to around 7amps which can't be right can it?

A review of the card reckons it uses around 100w at peak which equates to just over 8amps, blimey I am amazed

 

Assuming it's going with the spec in your sig, you should be fine, regardless what the specs say.

 

Forgot to post that bit I'd give it go to be honest, I use an Enermax 430w jobbie to run my x1950pro and it's fine.

 

Thanks! just wanted to make sure that I could run the card. I didn't want to spend all my Christmas/ birthday money on a card only to find out I cant run it. Now the hard part will be to convice my mom into letting me spend 170 buck on a video card.
