Ok if I wanted to get an ati 3850 video card would my Antec earthwatts 380w be able to handle it?
the psu has i believe has a max load of 27amps on the 12v rail.

Well Sapphires website states a 450w or 75w on the 6 pin PCI-E power connector capable PSU. 75w converts to around 7amps which can't be right can it?

A review of the card reckons it uses around 100w at peak which equates to just over 8amps, blimey I am amazed :jawdrop:

Assuming it's going with the spec in your sig, you should be fine, regardless what the specs say.

Forgot to post that bit :) I'd give it go to be honest, I use an Enermax 430w jobbie to run my x1950pro and it's fine.

Thanks! just wanted to make sure that I could run the card. I didn't want to spend all my Christmas/ birthday money on a card only to find out I cant run it. Now the hard part will be to convice my mom into letting me spend 170 buck on a video card.
