Love the design Cheaps! Going to be interesting to see it get made
Nice work Bró
@Christian - I haven't really started yet.
-Hey, kids. Remember how I said the bad tolerances would bite me in the butt?
Those are some really bad tolerances. I may be breaking this up and trying again. For now, I'm tweaking the reservoir model and focusing on that. I also have to figure out how to level the tube cut.
I apologize for taking baby steps here, but there's so many places I can screw up when just starting.
you need to configure the miter saw
@arduum - You joke, but getting the tile saw level to cut the tube involved jamming wood blocks under the motor. The 2 degree tilt from it being old and heavy would have made the manifold on top about a half inch low in the back of the case.
I'm probably still rocking a half a degree in the tube, so I have to find the 'high' side. I'm having to measure and correct the computer model as I build. Everything hinges on the tube dimensions, which was hand cut.
-Then there's the shitty .003 out of spec bits to deal with...
happy new year cheaps! .....oh, I see youve been busy too!
(I see the ZOO is back, http://themodzoo.com/forum/index.php?/topic/3426-its-2020-and-were-back/
Happy late new year. I thought you were going to tell me to check my e-mail.
The zoo is back...Next scheduled deletion is on Thursday.
Nice work , I await other updates
Always enjoying your logs Cheapskate!
There you go again
I have to confess I have nothing to show. I got a house back, and had to work on that. -On that note I have seen what must have been the stupidest tenant moment ever. While cleaning out kitchen drawers I found a set of cam latches for a quick-release toilet seat. My Spidey senses told me to go have a look, and I found a new seat...With the quick-remove cams ripped off and the mounts used as through-bolts on the open holes. I mean, WTF? The box probably even had instructions.
I feel like we rent out goldfish bowls sometimes...
Man! I love your builds!
Nice work bro
I probably should drop what little I have. I ran into another hiccup, and then got more vacant property.
-I milled the test gears sometime around Feb. That's a 1mm bit to get into the cracks.
-This is where I figured out it was the cheap bits that was making stuff out of spec. I managed to get perfect friction fits on the stainless steel shafts. That mismatching profile on the small gear was bothering me, though.
-Yep. the middle gear doesn't mesh. So I can't continue the reservoir until I find a solution, and I can't make the chassis because I can't get mill parts from China... By the way, Buy stuff from MNPCTech so he can mill me some parts some day.
-On that note; With my rental repairs, I've always had what I call the "end of the week/month" jinx. Whenever someone asks if I'll be done by the end of __X__, Something happens to make more work. Something breaks, the city floods, etc. Right before Corona hit, 5 separate people asked if my current repair job would be done within the end of March. So I guess you can blame me for the current chaos.
-I used this time to clean up some of the garage, though. I thought this could use some paint after 80 years of abuse.
Those are some nice looking vice jaws for 80 years old
The underside of the baseplate was still mostly bare metal . All the stuff I got from Grandpa was in great shape, it's just some of it is potentially deadly.
WoW how'd i miss this! nice work Cheaps and lotsa plex too
I don't know what you exactly looking for, but try to ship on https://fr.rs-online.com/web/
Ouch. That's pricier than domestic.
OK... I think cabin fever might be setting in.
I kinda was burning through a bunch of old paint to get rid of it...
and this sort-of happened:
I wonder what Grandpa would think. I was laughing my butt off, but that may have been because I didn't have a mask on.
