I also used the alternative term "expect", but that "right" didn't doesn't appear to have been sufficient for you it seems

Or possibly a questionable sense of humour, assuming it was humour, anonymously

I could continue this argument along with my line of reasoning but it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

So, given you don't seem to be making any relevant point, essentially your remark is just an ad hominem?

(If anyone is interested, my explanation is in the thread in Feedback & Suggestions.)

I think I'll stop here, unless you have more to say on the topic and not on the periphery.

    Calm it down Rambo! "disgusting!"??

I needed a good laugh today thanks. :thumb:

Unless you're willing to spend the money on an english tutor for everyone, im not sure anything can be done about it.

I've always had trouble with my punctuation, when i was 10 i would write a whole paragraph without any punctuation.

Till i was 16 i would continously get mixed up between your and you're aswell as there and their.

Im still terrible at it now i've refused tests for dsylexia twice after i failed gcse english twice doing A levels!
I would spend my lunch and break times going over and over work fixing it, and it would still end up wrong!.

Believe me if i could write like you i would do anything for it, but its just a slow process for me.

Although interesting to read, I find this thread ultimately pointless.

There will always be differing levels in peoples Grammer, spelling etc. Asking if we could do something about it, is like requesting the mods to turn the forums in to a literary police state.

If someone politely approaches me with a request that I can help them with, I couldn't give a damn how they word it. They're civil, I'm civil. I answer their question and they're happy.

Maybe the title of this thread should be changed to Bit-hipster? :p

Complain when you have to put up with moronic little 'tards at work insist that it's funny to actually speak in text-speak, it makes me want to kill. :wallbash: Add to that some of the most retarded slang usage I've ever heard (using the word 'bare' to mean lots? Seriously?!) and you begin to turn into a Unicorn :D

On forums I can stand bad spelling and grammar so long as it's not clear that it's plain laziness, then it gets annoying. I think what annoys me more than these things right now are people who can't seem to be bothered to turn the stupid forum app signatures off, I'm using it quite happily without spamming at the end of every post.

Only Unicorn deserves to make a thread like this, end of story.

No one deserves or has the right to make a thread like this, That's whats wrong with the i/n to many jerks being all superior and inflating their ego's without having to back it up in real life

When ever I see threads like this I imagine some scrawny nerd sitting at his computer in his underpants dribble running down his chin thinking "I'm so clever and superior" fap fap fap

From way back when I became an avid posted on other forums long since dead I poste in text speak but then irrititated many members and then myself with my own stupidity. I now post full sentences and words. To the point that when i text i write full words.

Great thing having auto spelling and word completion on Smart Phones.

My sister irrititates me with he text speak and her inability to form even simple sentences. She even does it when posting on facebook.

    I feel your pain bro.

I don't see the problem with people spelling things wrong. I just can't be arsed to go on word and check that all the spelling and gramma is correct. All I care about is if people use paragraphs, as me being dyslexic really struggle with massive walls of text. Any way why does it matter if I spell words wrong? or if my gramma is slightly off? As long as you got the damn point I was talking about.

I can understand that but that really isn't why people are doing it.

    Thread too long. Didn't read.

Simple solution. Let's kill all the stupid people under the age of 30 and start over.

I don't think many people mind the odd mistake, it's only when it's very bad, making it difficult to understand without rereading large patches of text, or missing things like capital letters at the beginnings of sentences, having no paragraphs etc which take little/no effort to do, yet improve the legibility of a past a million fold.

Only after they've declared their "impediment" to the entire forum ;)

That's all one could possibly have a right to expect :)

Well that would certainly take care of most text-speakers and most of the ones with no manners :D
