I just finished wiring up my parallel LCD's (both worked first time  ) and the inverted blue looks purple  . its a matrix orbital display just without the interface board (hense the parallel connection) so it should be blue. could it be purple because I connected the backlight straight to 5volts with out a resistor? its not getting hot where as the green one gets warm, so i wouldn't have thought this to be the case. any one know whats going on?

    thanks

Maybe they say its blue but its really a purplish blue, which would suck, but companies embelish on their products quite often.
