    Made a start on the re-tubing.

    Out went the white tubing and in came the braided tubing ;

    Looks far better imo.

    A bit different from standard tubing :D

    More to come.........

    IMHO it looks good, but not as good as the white. The white is such a sharp contrast, makes you go "WOW, look at that", the sleeve just doesn't have the same effect on me.

    Cheers for the replies.

    The tubing will be a Marmite thing, i guess.

    The white tubing was fine, but i wanted something different - So only when its finished will i see whether it was a good or bad move :)

    Anyway, bit of an update.

    A few more bits done.

    To cutdown on cabling, i made a small SATA power cable for the 2 HDDs and the DVD drive.

    Cut the wires to length;

    [IMG]

    Strip the sleeving at the required points;

    [IMG]

    Heatshrink the wiring that will show;

    [IMG]

    Add the braiding;

    [IMG]

    Then just slot the bare wires in the correct slots on the connector.

    Thanks :)

    ChilledPC.co.uk do a very good range of their own braiding now.

    They do a Blue and white braid which might suit your build.

    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/popup_image.php?pID=1411

    Mention my name :D

    The braid i'm using came direct from America via my very generous sponsor Techflex ( See front page for links )

    Cheers.

    'Trial and error'...?

    I would like to throw a few 'cents' your way.........

    This is what I see colour- wise:

    1. purple 'boxy/container'
    2. purple/white electric wiring
    3. org. white ... now changed P/W 'cooling' tubing.........

    I think I understand what 'stonedsurd' means by 'too loopy'...white makes things look larger and with long loops it takes up that much more (eye-catching) 'space' .
    But I also see 'mrdbristol's point....tubing that connects/shows the cooling circuit, which is very central.

    I would like to suggest to you, 'mrdbristol', that you might consider going back to the white tubing, but use right angel 'tubing elbows'? The right angels of the tubing and the right angels of the the 'boxy' container. And I think (?) the colours will be in a nice relationship/balance to each other.

    Hard to improve on perfection, ain't it just!

    Thanks for letting me comment!

    Loving the purple, have a bit bit of a penchant for all things purple myself. I like how the sleeving matches the purple too.

    I'm a fan of purple too. The only thing you are missing is some purple plexi. :naughty:
    I like the sleeved hoses. It's very clean. The only spot on the whole system I don't like is the snarl coming out of the PSU. It screams 'cover me!'

    That looks pretty purple to me :thumb:. More of an indigo, really, but it's not really truly blue. I think your monitor's just a bit off (mine's calibrated pretty well from the factory).

    Another small update before i disappear for a couple of weeks holiday :)

    Am going to use the 2 120mm roof fans for some internal lighting.

    3mm white LEDs with metal bezels;

    [IMG]

    Enlarge the fan screw hole by a couple of mm , then simply fasten the nut to the back of the bezel;

    [IMG]

    Even though it will be on the roof, and out of sight, more braiding.....
