This is ridiculous. I decide to put a set of feet using double sided tape to give it a bit more height now I am getting all sorts of lagging/freezing issues. Does not matter what mouse is connected.

I really have not got a clue where to look for a solution to this.

EDIT. I get this error message trying to do anything "The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

I would say its more likely something come loose in your rig from moving it rather than the feet you stuck on.

    Unfortunately not. lol

That was my initial thought and with that in mind have removed and reseated the RAM GPU and checked USBs. As yet still have the issue.

Right OK, so it's not feet related at all, just a coincidence. Any updates happened?

I have noticed on restart it is fine for about 20/30 seconds and then the issues kick in.

Right OK, running Windows 10 or 7?

If Windows 10, press Ctrl+Shift+Esc (task manager lol) and disable everything you don't need in the startup tab.

If Windows 7, msconfig into the start menu then same process.

Sounds like something is loading that it doesn't like. If it still happens after that it might be a third party service causing havoc.

Can you post a screen shot of the error?

    Wwindows 7

The error does not always appear but I will try and force it out.

I also note that it hangs on shutting down.

It looks like it might be a third party service loading but what I do not know. More to the point i have not installed anything bar DVDsoft youtube downloader today. Well that is gone.

msconfig again and go to the services tab. Tick to hide Microsoft services, then turn all the others off. Restart and see if it's better. If better, re enable them one by one, restart each time until it stops being OK. Then you've probably found your culprit.

Cannot get back into msconfig so as this is a very fresh install of Windows I am just going to reinstall.

    Thanks.

Last week my friend was even worse what with being confined to my bed with a particular nasty throat infection.

Basically you run that exe and if there are red bars you most likely have a driver issue. Run it again once you have everything installed - If it's red that's your problem - So start disabling the likely devices in turn, or close startup programs (Last time I had an issue it was Corsair Link)

The odd thing about this is it literally started after I attached 4 rather nice feet to the Carbide 240 case, most strange.
