i thought that koyto had no teeth, and had no real effect on the world, because it gives a buy to all the 'developing' nations and they are the ones doing most of the harmfull poulting, but i might be wrong on this. also keep in mind that with out the koyto treaty, the air in the US has gotten better jsut about every year since they started mesuring air quality in the late 70's. since most people will do what is right, once all other options are used up, i dont think we need this worthless treaty.

Please delete this post. We don't want anyone to know about our plans for global domination.

    Just let it drop.

Half this board is obsessed with bashing the american government, and the other half is intent on playing the bloody poor victim. If you feel that passionatley about it, get off your ass, stop posting here and do something about it....

...Or... One make one more irrelevant post about how **** or how amazingly brilliant america is in an unsuitable thread and it will be deleted and will get you a 3 day ban.

    George won, get over it.

Just bringing this back on the topic (and backing away from peacemaking acrimonious and his automatic banning weapon :D )

The Kyoto protocol is a 'start' on climate change, it gets everyone round the table and making decisions, once everyone’s signed up it can move forward and it'll raise the profile of climate change on the governmental agenda. If Kyoto can work then there will be more moves in the same direction and they will be less timid.
My uncle works for the new scientist and follows this story a lot more than I do but he has been concerned with the very real dangers of climate change for some time and Kyoto has been a real boon, its time for people to act with greater responsibility toward the environment in which we all live and if that means a kick up the backside from the government then I'm all for it :D
