Just built a PC for a mate a couple of nights ago and used the P4P800 Deluxe mobo with a P4. 2.8HGZ 800FSB cpu and the Geil PC4200 memory similar to that reviewed here.

When the PC is booting it looks like the memory is running at 400MHz and definately says single channel.

Is there some settings in the bios or something I need to change to:

1, get the PC to recognise this memory as dual channel

    and

2, can I get the speed upto 500MHz

Its a 'feature' of the P4P800 deluxe - you need to be specific about which DIMM sockets you put the memory into:

Supported configurations for 2 DIMM's are:

    slot 1 + slot 3
    or
    slot 2 + slot 4

Any other configs, eg using slot 1 + slot 2, cause single-channel mode to be used.

They should be colour co-ordinated aswell i think. And regarding the 500MHz, i dont think you'll see an improvement over running it in sync. High speed RAM like that is usually so the RAM can still be run in sync with the CPU even at high fsb's.

[Off topic] Where abouts in sheffield are you DamoW?

Yeah, they're blue and black respectively.
