The HDD coolers were a stroke of GENIUS. I'd have never thought of using them as coolers.

although, thinking about it, they coolers don;t have that large a contact surface area. Will it be enough?

I have no idea how much heat HDD produce, so I can't comment, I was just wandering

Well I have two hard drives stacked right above one another and each one has never hit higher than 23*C in a 19*C room.. So not much heat realistically.

That is a fine looking HDD cooler though ;)

Wow! That's a great spot, FrooP! You definitely  for coming up with that! +rep! Plus it looks great! If you needed more heat dissipation you could always add some recycled heat sinks and thermal paste (depending on your plans for mounting it!)

    lol

    Great updates!

Brilliant!!!:D How are you going to mount the HDs in the case now? Will you make an aluminum cage for each drive and bolt the HDs in with the bottom holes?

The parts bin reservoir is cute.:hehe:

    And congrats on MOTM nomination.

    sup guys,

WOW IM NOMINATED !!!!!!! yäy ^_^

so i started to design a box for the hdds
    [IMG]
which will be fully vibration isolatet
    [IMG]
but i still hadnt a clue where to actually put thesem so i designed a new floor which holds the hdds and goes under the actual case
    [IMG]
ill have to add some windows to the front
    [IMG]
cutting the aluminium is going to be "fun"
    there are the hdds
    [IMG]
i think ill add a cold cathode (blue) should create a neat lighting
    [IMG]
ill try to build all this in the next two weeks

Congatulations on your MOTM nominee.. I voted for you.

For you hard drive placement could you mount them at the top of the case underneath where you DVD drive is..
You could mount one under where your drive extends to and one under the actual drive but attaching them using the screw holes on the underside of the drive..

Congrats on MOTM, I voted for you :)

Shame you can't fit the HDDs in the case, but that's life.
Make sure the bottom bit doesn't look too bulky and out-of-place ;)

    Congrats on the MOTM nomination!

I would NEVER have looked at that alum as an HDD cooler. Now I will.
You people and your skills wear me out.
