Just curious what this should produce atm with the following setups.

    WinSMP (4cores)

    2xWinSMP (2cores each)

    LinuxSMP (4cores)

    2xLinuxSMP (2cores each)

    2xVMware Linux (2cores each)

If any could give me rough ideas that would be great. :thumb:

My 3.8 Ghz Q6600 produces 3000 PPD - 1500 per VMware client. I run 2x Notfreds on it.

From My Experience around this if you only have 1 GPU client running as well:

    WinSMP (4cores) - 1500-2000ppd

    2xWinSMP (2cores each) - 2000-2500ppd

    LinuxSMP (4cores) - 5000-5500ppd

2xLinuxSMP (2cores each) not worth it but prob very similar to above on 4 cores

    2xVMware Linux (2cores each) - 2300-2600 each - 4600-5200ppd total

At the moment im getting nearly 5000 from my Q6600's @ 3.1 on NotFreds :D

Also remember Uni & Brooksy the amount of GPU clients running will greatly effect the performance!

What GPU's do you both run?

What is up with my clients then? They just naturally (or unnaturally as the case may be) dropped the PPD that they were proucing about a month ago. Like some of you I was getting 4K PPD out of my Q6600 with the current overclock but it dropped to 3K, all on it's own. Halp?

I know the v2.10 cores have dropped the PPD on Dual cores so maybe because most people run 2 x NotFred's acting as 2 core SMP clients then the new core is behind the drop?

    On my 2 x Q6600's I run 1 x NotFred as a 4 core SMP instead of 2 instances (Im not using VMware player) and I get 4500-5000ppd with 3 x GTX260's in the same rig :D

Thanks guys. Have setup 2 Notfred VMWare clients + WinGPU

    Currently getting

    GTX260 - WINGPU - 9500PPD (353pt WU)
    Q6600(2cores) - Notfred1 - 2200pts (1920pt WU)
    Q6600(2cores) - Notfred2 - 2000pts (1920pt WU)

Well the notfreds are a little lower with the 1920s than with the 1760s so its looking good atm :)

That sounds better mate, what OS you running and what Affinity you got set on the VM's and 260?

Yeah mate I use VMware Workstation 6.5 as I got licences in work, in the GUI you can still only set it to use 1 or 2 cores but there is a simple hack you can do to set a VM to use 4 cores! ;)

And you are getting more PPD from running one instance of notfred's virtual client on all four cores than I am running two on two cores using VMware player? What if I told you I could get my hands on Vmware workstation as well? It seems to be worth doing.

Before the v2.10 core I would have said there wouldn't be much in it, but I noticed that when the 2 instances of NotFred running on 2 cores each got the v2.10 then ppd dropped from 2400ppd each to around 1900-2000ppd.

I was browsing the tinterweb and found with a quick mod to a file you could get Workstation to use 4 cores so I gave it a go on 1 NotFred instance and my ppd went back upto 4800-5000ppd so it certainly seems better to me and its less hassle of running 2 VM's :D

Give it a go mate if you can get workstation although I dont know if the mod works on versions lower than 6.5?! :thumb:
