I have a Q6600 CPU. Can someone tell me how i can identify whether its a GO or a B3? In
CPU-z the Stepping is B and the Revision is GO. So does it mean that it is a B3 stepping?

Here is a link to a screenshot from CPU-Z

And what is the difference between these 2 steppings?

    It's a G0.

G0 sucks less power, can stand higher temps, OCs better, B3 might be on a larger process (90vs65nm0 but I'm not sure about that one.

Google Q6600 B3 VS G0 for oodles of info.

the B3 was the first release, and it was piss poor for overclocking, plus it ran hot.

The later G0 is the king of Q6600 so to put it, as its cooler and overclocks really well.

I have a b3 q6600. Sucks but I can still get it to run at 3ghz with crappy air cooling. Most people can get them to 3.2
