Hello Buddies I want your help on something if you don't mind, After like 2 years running my computer without bothering with any thing any more... Because life troubles that made me don't have time for it any more. Anyways, Now I want to know something. I got the Q9450 and The Ultra-120 With Enermax Clusters Fans... About The Temps, My core1,2 get same temp, But core3,4 Get lower 10 Degree all the time Even Idle or Load. So what the problem will be ? I got the CPU and Cooler Laped till It's totally flat I'm sure... What do you think ? Thanks a ton guys
Many Intel socket 775 CPUs are like that although 10ºC is at the more extreme end of the range difference. I got better cooling with an unlapped TRUE than I did with a lapped one. Despite what people think the bow in the cooler can make a difference but it depends how well the bow is machined. What is your overclock on that? Did you have the same load temp differential with the stock cooler?
The Thing I'm Running it Stock also into C1E thing that drops the speeds and rise it again... The machine is perfect organized and Air is flowing with good fans
I've just had a quick look at some results for my Q9450 from a couple of years ago. 3.46GHz, vcore 1.3375v with a TRUE and Xigmatech 1900rpm fan, ambient 21ºC. Prime 95 load temps after 2 hours were 62ºC (68ºC with a Scythe Ninja Cu with the same fan). It's possible the CPU and/or Heatsink aren't perfectly flat or the TIM hasn't been applied correctly. You can increase the mounting pressure with the TRUEs by putting a thickish washer between the mounting mechanism and the top of the heatsink base or by using a nut and bolt system using the springs which definitely increases the pressure. What is the vcore set to?
Mine is exactly the same, although now I'm using water it's not as bad. The range i get across my cores is 6-10 degrees easily Good combo there, I used to have exactly the same kit Just actually read through the post, I had that idle temp with my Q9450 @ 3.4GHz @ 1.2v, so something is wrong there as that's a little warm...
Vcore is 1.18V All the time i think. The Multi Is the only thing that drops and rise.. yeah i think this is the problem coz the gravity bulling the true down with all that weight and weak motherboard what do u mean by the "thickish washer" ? But Buddy I'm sure something is wrong.. because can't be the Core1,2 hotter than the rest without doing anything...
2nd picture in the first post gives the idea http://www.hardwareheaven.com/overc...ultra-120-extreme-how-cut-10-degrees-off.html It could be that the TJMax for the cores are different. Unclewebb does a good overview at http://www.techpowerup.com/realtemp/docs.php
As I said in my post, my core are all different temps. I was more confused by your temps being so high...
I've got a QX6850 @ 3.6g and a lapped TRUE cooler on one of my rigs hottest core idles at 38c and on prime dont go over 65c so I would say you need to have another look at that because those temps are way too high, When was the last time you applied new tim ??
Ahh I got the idea I will add this washer and see what happens After I lapped them that was like 1 year ago or something And Real Temps Says 58 . 58 . 49 . 51
I have a Q9450 overclocked to 3.56G with same heatsink as you. When all cores are maxxed out my temps on cores 1,3 and 4 = 65C But core 2 = 61C. I just put it down to the heatspreader and heat sink must not be perfectly flat. Doesn't bother me tho.
Okay here we go, I did some work today hope it will work and this what I did and what I got.... I still get the 10C diffrent from the 2 vs 2 cores..
