question about asus mobo

    i have recently brought a p4r800-vm for my P4 2.66Ghz but since ive had it running for some reason its only reading as 1.6Ghz

    any ideas on how to get it up to 2.66 ?

    I'd hazard a guess that your fsb is set incorrectly.

    thats my guess aswell but try tunning a program called cpu-z because the moniter in windows isnt accurate

    tried cpu-z not long after.. for some reason.. bios says 533mhz FSB and cpu-z says 133mhz...

    Thats normal for Intel processors as they're "quadpumped" meaning the effective FSB clock is 4 times the board's clock
