i've recently purchased 2 gigs of Gskill DDR2 800 ram. my brother went to a lan party and won 2 gigs of Patriot DDR2 800 ram. i was wondering if i could put both sets on my mobo or only have one kind of memory brand at a time
If you are ever plan or already OC'ing your computer, you need to have also the memory timing to be same, as you MAY POTENTIALLY have system stability issues, or simply your OC will fail. But I am no expert.
ya, you'll be fine. be aware that some MBs are retarded and don't allow all 4 slots to be occupied. so don't be surprised if windows doesn't notice all of them.
