Ok this has been plagueing me all day. I can't find out anything since I am at work (proxy). I recently had to swap out my 360 for a new one under the warranty. I went through the whole process with Microsoft already and have been refunded my MS points.

The question is, can I still load up and play Oblivion using the DLC I purchased for it already without being on Xbox Live? I know you have to connect to live to play downloaded games (if you aren't playing off the original 360 the purchase was made on) but I don't know if it also holds true for downloadable content for games (Shimmering Isles, Ultimate Alliance Hero/Villain packs ect..). I noticed my themes still work (well it's the free emergence day one so that might be why) but I don't have oblivion with me to test out of the DLC for it work offline. Reason being the game was still inside the 360 when it died (and I forgot about it when I took it in to be switched lol). If someone could answer it would be appreciated and would leave me with extra MS points to spend elsewhere instead of this DLC a 2nd time.

    I believe the restrictions are:

Original Console (on which the content was downloaded on): Any Gamertag can use the content whether they've purchased the content or not.

Any other Console: Only Gamertags which have purchased the content can use it. (i.e. If I've purchased Geo wars on my 360 and you've purchased Geo Wars for yours then we'd both be able to play it on your machine, however if you hadn't (and I had) then you wouldn't but I would).

So the fact that you've purchased a particular content is tied to your Gamertag, so you should be able to re-download and use it on whatever machine you use without having to re-pay the points.

Yeah I can redownload it using my current gamer tag. But at the moment, because it's not my original 360 anymore if I am not connect to Xbox Live I cannot run those games in full more (only trial); that's why I had to go to MS to get my points refunded for those games.

The big problem is that I am unsure if I need to be connected to Xbox Live in order for my DLC for games like Oblivion and Ultimate Alliance to activated when I play. I'de like avoid repurchasing those packs if I can access them offline on my gamertag (unlike the other games which only run in trial if I am offline).

ah right, wasn't aware that you also needed to be connected to XBL in order to play on 2nd console.
