Quick question from those in the know: I have two EK 240 XTX rads coming. They have 4x G/4 fittings on the end, but also, another one on the other end that is labelled as fill/drain port as per the pic below. Question is: can this be used as a fluid inlet too? Reason I ask is because the block sits in front of my bay res, and if so, I can just pipe fluid straight in.
One would imagine so. Thought: If the hole is underneath it become a drain port. If it's on top it becomes a fill port.
Would you only use one of the others as the outlet? As then you'd probably only be using half the rad...
Pete is right. The end port is described as a fill/bleed/drain port and unless the rad was a cross flow type it wouldn't be effective.
+1 To use that port and get the most out of your radiator, you'd need to use two ports on the other end (one from each side) and join them together with a Y connector or a manifold.
It's actually a very good rad. If I were buying new rads now it'd be a toss up between these and the Alphacool UT60. I just like the idea of all copper rads.
