I have a new WD external drive, which i use for file transfer between 2 computers, and for the backup of these computers. Since i am basicly using it on these computers, it would be nice not to have to carry the powerbrick with me all the time. First i thought about getting an extra powerbrick, but then again, the thing runs on 12 volts 2A. I could easily get this of of the psu in the two computers, couldn't I? Just thought of asking here first, as i want to be as sure as possible. Thanks in advance...
Yep, the yellow wires on the psu are the 12v wires, the blacks are ground. Just get a connector of your choice, mount it on a back plate for pci slot, and make a wire up to go from the connector to the drive.
Thanks, that's what i thought. I will probably get to it over the weekend. Thanks again for the quick reply.
