Graphics Question for biggles (or anyone else!)

    Been playing with AA settings on the 7900, managed to get 16*AA on the card, theres a performance hit (~ 40% over 8*) but cant see a massive difference (i.e could just be imagining its working...)
    Any way I can confirm that its actually running 16*AA?

    I guess you could take some screenshots of the same place, and then analyse them/compare them at different settings?

    I think this is probably the best way to check. You'll see very small diffferences on the edges of objects.

    it's a software mode, afaik

    EDIT: sorry, was watching 24 when I posted that originally...

    It'll be done in the pixel shader if it is doing 16xAA. There is the option to turn 16xAA on in Doom 3 and Quake 4. Both of those games do it in the pixel shader if my understanding is correct.
