Just about to sleeve my PSU, just occured to me - when I put sleeve over how can I tell which black wire went with yellow and which with red. Then it occured to me that it does it matter? I presume so but I am not sure? Thanks guys Cant wait to post log
No it doesn't matter just make sure the red and yellow wires are in the right place but the ground wires are common, so there's no problem.
Nope, it makes no difference. If you've ever opened up a PSU, you'll see that all the ground wires are indeed common (as they should be).
Guess it's the classical education, but it's not gruond it's 0v.. ground would be the green/yellow cable inside your PSU which gets screwed to the case.
Well, the ground/earth from the power supply's AC input prong is directly connected to the case. The case is, in turn, connected to the powersupply's board and the computer's case. In my powersupply, the PSU's standoff are electrically connected to the ground or 0v. The computer case is electrically connected to the 0v of the power supply. It is also electrically connected to the PSU's case which is connected to the earth. Therefore, all earth/ground/0v are one in the same in a computer. Edit: Though I can see your point if you were talking about something else such as audio applications.
