Hello, I really hope this question has not allready been asked and if it has but really sorry and point me to the light, but I am currently trying to find out what notebook/netbook (not too sure on which one is correct) would be best for what I want. As they both seem (in reviews anyway) to cover the basics, I am torn between the MSI Wind U100(or maby U120 as I hear that is soon) and the Samsung NC10, another questions I have on which ever is mentioned is how easy to upgrade the RAM, Wireless and HD What I need 1 of them for is work/personal things: work: e-mails, browsing, download/upload files, word/xl/powerpoint (internet would be via wireless if possible or if not via HTC Touch Dimond phone) and comms like skype Personal: same as above + Video (like AVI, MKVs - HD stuff in MKV format) and maby (but not a show stopper as this is not what these are mad for) some old school gaming like Classic Doom, Total Annihilation olddies like but as I mentioned not fussed that is only a bonus on long flights So what do people think? or am I asking a daft question and just buy XXXXXXX Thanks and again sorry if this has allready been asked to death
From the Bit-tech review, the NC10 seems to have a standard panel on the bottom which just unscrews to reveal the RAM slot(s). As for the MSI Wind, the underside seems to be without an access. Personally, I'd go for the NC10. I've had a brief play with one, and it seemed great, and the BiT chaps liked it a lot in use too, and there's been no shortage of netbooks about. I think they've tested nearly all of them so far, and it's currently top of the pile.
Cheers, Yea I actually found the MSI review and take apart after I wrote this heh, was hoping they would have a NC10 take apart as well. but from what I have read its pretty simple to upgrade the ram etc, and wireless on b & g is not too much of any issue. Im sure there will be a way to upgrade that to be able to do n as well.... but after all reading i think im defo leaning towards the NC10.....
Do have one other small question, just did some googling... (prolly should not have...) But started finding out about the new thing Intel and Nvidia are doing the "Ion" of what people have read, do you think they are worth waiting for.. (being the latter end of the year) or???
