I have an abit KR7A-133 and will be getting an XP2100+

the BIOS only supports upto XP2000+...

so do i start up at XP2000+ and install windows ect and then go on the internet and get a newer BIOS and then change the setting to XP2100+ ?

i just need to make sure, lol.

    thanks,

it should be fine with the xp2100 but you could always flush a new bios anyway....

    what ?

in the BIOS, the highest option is an XP2000+

    right ?

    i will have an XP2100+ ...

so do i boot up running the chip at XP2000 and then flash the latest BIOS to have XP2100+ support ?

    thanks,

flashing the Bios will give you the extra Multiplier options to run at XP2100 speeds! Therefore, underclocking it should be fine until you hvae the option to run it at the proper speed. check your Bios first though to make sure this is definitelythe case and Bios flash is necessary!

ice cube, did u read the quote from the abit website??

if you did you would realize that it is more then likely to support the new cpu without a flash....
