I was thinking of buying a PS4 when it's released, and wondering how it'll interact with my current setup.

If I bought a U2412M, it has a 16:10 aspect ratio. Do consoles support that? Or will I end up with black bars or something? Maybe I would be better buying a U2312HM (16:9)? Also, do either of these monitors have the right inputs?

    1 x D-Sub
    1 x DisplayPort
    1 x DVI-D In

At the moment I have a Sennheiser 598 + Zalman mic connected to a Titanium HD. I'm guessing I would just need to plug them both into the PS4 when I want to use them? Or maybe I can get some sort of splitter cable or something? (No idea really)

Seeing as the PS3 has mouse + keyboard support, will I just have to plug them both in when I want to use them as well?

    Thanks

EDIT: Yeah, this could be tricky as the PS4 isn't released yet, but I'm guessing it can't be that different.

First of all, most consoles will only support 16:9 for games - so the U2311 or U2711 is the way to go.

Secondly, you should be ok plugging most consoles in using a DVI to HDMI adaptor - but of course, you'll need to route the sound elsewhere (home cinema kit etc) because DVI doesn't carry sound.

No one knows exactly what Audio ports the PS4 will have, but likely Optical and HDMI. If only these, you'd need a AV Receiver in order to use your headphones. If it has a Stereo (3.5mm or RCA out) then you wouldn't need this, but as stated, no one knows.

You almost certainly won't be able to use your Zalman Mic however. Most mic inputs for consoles are proprietary, so you'll have to use either an official, or third party licensed mic.

Hmm okay, probably won't use my mic very much anyway. Could I use an external DAC/amp for both my PC and PS4?

Depends on what inputs the DAC/Amp has, and what audio outputs the PS4 has.
