    Can i use my tv as a monitor?

    Whould just be better size? Advantages Disadvantages, problems?
    What cable and connection to the tv?

    Any difference in using atv compared to amonitor?

    quality, speed?

    yes you can if you video card has a tv out port. nost video cards do it's an s-video out. you'd need a s-video to composit video adapter if you din't have s-video in put on the tv.

    i would not bother though. tv's make **** monitors. the resolutoion is crap. the only use your get out of a tv is if you played dvd's or other video files on it. also you can use the tv to game on but thats a matter of opinion if you want to do that.

    Ill second that - even with a great prog like TvTool, a telly just does not make a good 'all purpose' monitor. Even the lowest rez of 640x480 is only barely readable. Great for games and videos tho.

    PS. woodshop, im sure philb would have used the search if it bloody worked - plenty of peeps have had problems for weeks now.
