I'm, slowly, getting my watercooling back up and running.
    I've got 2 120mm fans
    A panaflo with a model number fba12g12m
    and a Titan aluminum jobie.

My question is which one will be more quiet/give the best performance?

The one that looses out will become the shroud for the other pulling through a BIX.
On the noise issue, I plan on 7V modding anyway, but which has the least whine to it?

    Quick Googlorise gives....

    Panaflo
    Nominal Speed: 2100 RPM
Maximum Air Flow: 2.45 m3/min or 86.5 CFM
    Noise: 35.5 dB-A

    Titan
    Rotation Speed: 3000 RPM
    Acoustical Noise: 26dB(A)
    Airflow: 37 CFM

Thus making the Titan quieter but the panaflo more efficnent

[NOTE: As you didnt give a model # for the titan, i took it off the first random review I found of a Titan fan. (Panaflo was taken directly from their site)]

    Thanks for the response.
The titan is model # tfd-12025h12c

Thanks for the specifics j4ck. I really should have just done some google work but I was feeling lazy.

The Titan fans are only $12 and seems easier to disassemble than the Panaflo so I guess it gets it's guts ripped out.

Here's the official specs for that fan.

    Rated Speed : 2200RPM
    Max Air Flow : 84.76CFM
    Noise Level : < 39dBA

So this makes the Panaflo better in each situation :)

The Panaflow is the better make. You'll probably find it works better at 7v as well.

Panaflo makes great quality fans...and they have never let me down. Even putting them on my 0-12v controller didnt stop them. The noise isnt bad either.

According to this thread using a fan as a shroud, especially on a BIX, is a bad thing.

    Thanks Cheebs :thumb:
It seems that not only is using a fan as a shroud a bad thing but using a shroud in general is not so great.
I guess that means I get to use the Titan for another project. :D

The only thing that worries me about the Panaflo is that its motor is so large there will be a bigger dead spot than the Titan.

I'll have to just try out both and see what happens.
maybe I'll do my own testing of the difference a shroud makes too.

if you read the thread you'll see that a shroud is good, it's just that a fanbody is so bad it's worse than no shroud.....
