    Hi all,

As I am waiting for December to build my i7 rig I suddenly my gf has a project where she needs to edit some HD movies and my current system is really struggling, so I want some opinons for what I should upgrade to get the most juice out of this so that I can get the movies done

    Main specs now:
    CPU: E6600 @ 3Ghz (Artic 7 pro cooler)
    RAM: 4Gb
    GFX: 9600GSO XXX 384Mb
    HDD: Toshiba 7k1000
    Mobo: Asus p5b deluxe
    Also only have windows 32bit

Budget is about £200 might be able to do £250 what would be best short term gains as I don't need future proofing?

    Thanks for any advice

    Ian

I just found this on overclockers, is it worth getting this and maybe a 64 bit copy of windows?

that quad wont clock much in a 965 motherboard as it has a very low multi and a very high fsb (333) so I would avoid it even if it is a good price.

    Look for a Q6600 / Q6700
