With the position I've set up the Sub Woofer the control pod's wires are way too far away to reach the back of my PC. However the control pods input is a monitor cable which suggests to me it can also be in putted to back of my monitor. I'm wondering if I can do that and before any one says RTFM I already did but there is no way the control pod is going to reach the back of my PC when it's on the opposite end of the room.
Each of my three Z-5500 (before they lost the will to live) had a little tag actually telling you NOT to connect the control pod to a serial/VGA port or extend it. Unfortunately, there isn't really anything you can do to get around the shortness of the control pod wire
Damn you've gone through 3 of them? I thought they were reliable I think it was pretty damn retarded to have such short leads, my room isn't that big but now I need to get extension leads so I don't have my Control hub sitting on the floor to reach my PC.
Believe me my reaction too, Logitech provided the shortest wire ever, god forbid any one actually had a bigger room.
I have been able to use a stright pin to pin Male to Female VGA extention cable to add an aditonal 6meters which worked without issue. The cable I use was heavily shielded by VDC (104-224-106 VGA male ~ female 6 m).
Wrong, you've got to plug in the audio cables from the PC soundcard to the Control pod which has to be connected to the Sub woofer. When my sub is behind me and my desktop infront of me that leads to really crap cable design.
Alas, no. The first issue was fuses... that was easy enough to fix. Got a pack from maplin a while back. Then the control pod software screwed up after a while - happened for each of the three systems, in similar but different ways. This WAS a while back, though... I'd hope they would have fixed the issues or pulled them from sale since then. I was bored by the third system... amazing as the speakers are, was sick of them failing... the last one was just inside warranty, thankfully. To Logitech's credit, I eventually got a refund for the vast majority of what I paid. tl;dr - Don't worry too much if you have heard they are reliable elsewhere. They probably are now.
